Memory Board Instructions
What is a Memory Board?
- A memory board, also known as photo collage or picture board, is a collection of photos, mementos, awards, and other items that represent the student’s life.
- Students LOVE their memory boards and really enjoy looking at their friend’s boards. They are keepsakes. Some students even take them to their dorm or new residence.
- Class of 2025 memory boards will be prominently displayed in the small gym for students to enjoy during Grad Night.
How do I make a Memory Board?
- The Graduation Committee has purchased white poster boards, measuring 22” x 28”, that will be made available on a first come, first served basis. The memory board will be available for pick up from
March 31-April 4, 2025
in the SHS Main Office.
- Each family decorates their student’s board with their name, photos from babyhood, growing up, school photos, mementos, special memorabilia, etc. Use your imagination!
Where do I start?
- There are examples of memory boards below.
- Decide if you will make your board via the traditional scrapbooking method or digitally.
- Scrapbooking Method:
- Gather your photos, printed items, stickers, colored papers, and any decorative items you like to use.
- Arrange the items on your board.
- You can also line the front of the board with decorative colored paper (optional) before adding on the photos.
- Use strong double- sided tape, glue dots, or glue to secure your items. After you are are done, shake the board to make sure everything is mounted securely. If items fall off at home, they will fall off somewhere along the journey, and will not be returned to you.
- Digital Method:
- Gather your digital photos and convert any memorabilia items into digital formats (scan into documents, take photos, etc.)
- Order your collage poster from Costco, Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Shutterfly, mpix.com, Collage.com, etc.
- Be sure your poster is no larger than 22” x 28” in size. You will need to affix your poster to a poster board with glue or tape so that it can be securely hung at the event.
- Make sure your student's first name is easily visible on the front of the board. Be sure to include your student’s first and last name on the back of the board.
Please DO NOT...
- Please do not use thick/heavy decorations, laminate, paint or frame your board. They will be too heavy to hang.
- Please do not make your board larger than 22" x 28”. Confine décor within the board.
- Please do not miss the turn-in deadline.
